CROOKED ROOTS FARM

Small-scale farm in Longmont, Colorado

Sustainably Grown. Nutrient-Dense. Regenerative Farming.

We take a lot of pride in how we farm, choosing practices that put the health of our soil first. On our 2.5-acre vegetable field, we use minimal-till methods to keep the ground’s natural biology intact. By disturbing the soil as little as possible, we ensure the crops we grow are as nutrient-dense as they can be.

Our animals are a key part of this whole process. We raise our sheep and pigs with genuine care, making sure their specific needs are met. For the pigs, that means having space to bathe in the mud and root around. For the sheep, it means plenty of room to roam and graze on open pasture. Our chickens follow the sheep through the fields as part of our rotational system, acting as natural pest control and spreading manure to help fertilize the ground.

This is the heart of regenerative farming for us. The animals help the land, and the land grows better food for the community.
